Chocolate Doughnut Mix

Enjoy making chocolate-frosted chocolate doughnuts at home anytime. With just a few pantry ingredients, these doughnuts are baked and not fried so there's less mess and less fat. Simply delicious and ready in minutes. Makes a great gift paired with a dessert cookbook and oven mitt!

From your pantry you will need: 1 large egg, 1/2 cup vegetable oil, 1/2 cup buttermilk (or 1/2 cup milk with 1/2 tsp. lemon juice or white vinegar), 2 TBSP unsalted butter, 2-3 TBSP milk

Chocolate Doughnut Mix

For the doughnuts:
    • 1 large egg, beaten
    • ½ cup vegetable oil
    • ½ cup buttermilk (or ½ cup milk with ½ tsp. lemon juice or white vinegar)
For the glaze:
  • 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter, melted
  • 2-3 Tbsp. milk

Directions for doughnuts: Preheat oven to 325℉. Grease doughnut pan. Whisk together egg, oil and buttermilk in a large bowl. Stir in contents of doughnut mix. Mix until well combined. Pipe or spoon batter into well, filling each doughnut well half full. Bake 10-15 minutes. Allow to cool in pan 10 minutes before removing to wire rack.

Directions for glaze: Combine glaze mix with 2 tablespoons melted butter. Slowly add milk one tablespoon at a time until glaze is at desired consistency. Whisk until very smooth. Dip tops of cooled doughnuts into glaze. Allow to set up for a few minutes. Enjoy!
